On March 16, the American Center hosted the first speaker in what will be a regular series of talks on Career and Professional Development. Otis Pratt, the Management Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Asmara spoke for an hour on his experiences growing up in Africa, before immigrating to the United States, where he studied computer science and then began a successful career in IT consulting, business management and federal government service. This series of speakers events is designed to expose American Center visitors to knowledge, skills, experiences and attitudes that have been important in helping various professionals succeed in their chosen career.
